Imagined Worlds
In Literacy we have looked at the use of expressive and descriptive language in stories to create mood, arouse expectations and build tension. We then watched three animated scenes from KnowledgeBox and chose one to describe. Here are some examples of our work.
Metal alien like claws, reach out and wrap around you, until your face turns blue. The metal claws are like torpedoes blasting through the atmopshere.
Christian
In the distance the rocky mountains leap over each other in a dusty haze. Yellow stars reach up into the red, dusty sky.
Crystal
In the distance the rocky mountains hang over the muddy floor. A red breeze stands over you.
Stars hover over you like ghosts, shooting stars fly across the sky.
Emma
Huge, blood circled rocks attached to the red ringed planet floating in space. The massive boiling sun is shining brightly on the planet's surface.
Sian
A dark and mysterious shape moves towards you hungrily. A huge eye clearing its way towards you. Nervously, you move backwards.
Connor
It was dark and gloomy, the deep, blue sea stretches out to grab you. Jelly fish floating silently in the heavy, thick atmosphere. Colourful, scaly fish weaving slowly along the slimy, slippery floor. A fork shaped monster traps them against the sand.
Hydie
Dark and gloomy the atmosphere turns, followed by bloody red and black. Disc like objects shoot towards you like grey bullets.
Suddenly, a frightening monster appears, its jaws snapping together, killing what ever gets in its way.
